Hello everybody! I recently got myself a second-hand waffle iron, and I am stoked. When I tried to look for vegan waffle recipes I found that while there were numerous ones to choose from most of them included very specific ingredients or just things that make the waffle too healthy, and like… I don’t know about you, but when I decide to make waffles it is not because I crave a healthy meal. If you want to make it more healthy, you can also add beets and spinach, or substitute the wheat flour for quinoa flour, that is completely up to you.

YOU WILL NEED (makes 4-6 waffles): 3 deciliters of wheat flour // 1 tbsp of sugar // 2 tsp of vanilla // a pinch of salt // 2 tsp of baking powder // 50 grams of melted vegan butter // 1,5 deciliters of sparkling water // 1,5 deciliters of plant milk (I have found that soy milk gives the best result, but any kind will do, this one was made with oat milk)

HOW TO: Start by mixing the dry ingredients together, then add the wet. Mix in a bowl until thoroughly combined. Then turn on your waffle iron. When it is properly heated, add a small dollop of vegan butter on each heating plate, then pour about 1 deciliter of batter on at a time (note that this might vary depending on the size of the waffle iron). With some irons, you have to turn the waffles inside it to make sure they cool on each side. Bake them until crispy and golden, then serve
