Hello everyone! I thought I would check in today and share some of the funnier second hand items I have hanging around my flat. I have made it my mission to not buy new things, especially when it comes to decor and knick knacks. I don’t really like new things, they have no stories to tell. What you see here is a combination of amazing thrift store finds, things more than ten years old and odd stuff I have acquired from others. Both me and my fiancee keep our uni books in old wooden crates from the 60’s. They are much nicer than whatever crap you find in Ikea, just saying. My craft supplies are kept in an old little shelf system from my father-in-law’s garage. I think it was originally used for screws and nails and such.
I love when my things not only look raw and worn down, but when they actually are in such a condition. One of my biggest pet peeves is new furniture that looks old on purpose, when it has that “vintage look” – just go and buy second hand instead. I don’t think I will ever understand this trend. Well, this turned into a rant and for that I am sorry, but I hope you enjoyed my small projects. I will very soon pull my ass together and film a proper house tour, promise! In the meantime you can check out my other posts about decor and interior, they are all linked above! Good vibes!
Your decor is so nice and it’s awesome that your incorporating secondhand things. Your right, more history!! I do the same, once in awhile I’ll get tempted to buy something new if I don’t eventually find it at the thrift store.I need to work on that : )
