BERLIN VEGAN FOOD GUIDE // what I ate in the vegan capital of Europe

Brammibals Donuts // Alte Potsdamer Str. 7, 10785 Berlin. Brammingbals is an all-vegan café that serves coffee, tea, sandwiches, but most importantly: donuts. They have three locations in Berlin, so it is a super convenient spot, and I cannot recommend them enough. They male delicious donuts, and I should know, I had two for breakfast.

Secret Garden // Warschauer Str. 33. This is an Asian bistro that is located next to an all-vegan supermarket and a vegan shoe store. I went in because I wanted something light and I got these delicious dumplings. They also had sandwiches and rice dishes though.

Element five / Skalitzer Str. 46b. This was a vegan Vietnamese tapas bar. They also have large main dishes but the star of the show is definitely the small tapas plates. I got vegan fried shrimp, Peking dack, spring rolls, braised tofu and tons of other amazing dishes. I think this is some of the best food I’ve ever had. Period.

No Milk Today / Fichtestraße 3. I went and had breakfast at this place, and it was so cute. They have a little terrace where I sat and had a cup of hot chocolate and a vegan bagel with cashew cream cheese. It was delicious. They also have cakes, scrambled tofu plates, teas, and coffee. Honestly, the bagel was so good that I saved half of it for later and it was still delicious after spending 4 hours in my lunch box. A really good place for breaking or lunch.

Kiiro Burger / Schönleinstraße 34. Makes Asian-American fusion burgers and they are spectacular, let me say. They don’t have a lot of seating areas, so I guess the place is mostly for takeout. However, I found a spot to sit near a window. I got the black sesame burger with a vegan patty, mango, bbq sauce, a vegan fried egg, and coriander. It was not like anything I’ve had before, but a super tasty and interesting experience. They also have more traditional burgers, but I think it was crazy not to try the black burger.

Katjes Café / Rosenthaler Str. 32. A café run by the sweets company Katjes, which is also based in Berlin. They had a variety of vegan options (not everything is vegan though). I got a mango cupcake with vegan buttercream because I haven’t had that for years and it did not disappoint. The café in itself is also quite cute and they sell some of their treats in the shop as well.

Monos / Chausseestraße 2. A veggie resturant that serves mostly vegan, some vegetarian, organic dumplings. This was the last place I went to before I left Berlin, and it did not disaapoint. They make both steam and fried dumplings, and a delicious soup as well.
